Key People

Tom Lee OAM is a life member of Narrandera Race Club. Tom was a diligent, respected and active committee member for 50 plus years. He was treasurer on several occasions during that time and also worked in the race day office during many race meetings always helping out when and where he could. Tom influenced, and had input into, many positive decisions that have contributed to the professional and quality facilities and racing that NRC patrons continue to enjoy to this very day.

Les Peacock (Blue) was the president of the Club in the 1980s. Blue took over when the club was in severe financial difficulty. He led a new team of racing enthusiasts to turn the club’s financial situation around, setting the foundations for a community-based club for all to enjoy. Blue oversaw the initial plans for the new toilets and covered betting ring. He was a real character who was well respected. Blue always sought-out and encouraged volunteers to work for the club and this remains a key to the club’s success.
